Empire’s been canceled and first it was Terrence Howard acting out and now it’s Bryshere Gray. The 26 year old star who plays Hakeem Lyon on Empire was arrested Monday morning in Arizona. His wife was at a Circle K gas station where she flagged down a stranger and had told them Bryshere had attacked her for several hours and authorities stated she was covered in visible injuries. She also said she had temporarily lost consciousness while he strangled her. She was taken to a local hospital while he barricaded himself in the house refusing to speak to police.
Several hours went by and it took a SWAT team to get Bryshere out of his house at the end of standoff around 7 in the morning, approximately 9 hours after her 911 call. He was booked at Maricopa County Jail on 3 charges of felony aggravated assault (strangulation), misdemeanor assault (domestic violence), and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
If anyone is wondering what happened here, he was just accused of cheating last month despite being a newlywed. It makes you wonder if she confronted him with cheating and this is what happened. He’s also not been working for a little while which likely set him off as well. And consider his legal record since Empire ended. Last summer he was arrested for driving without a license and insurance. He was also sued for $30,000 by his landlord in May for trashing his condo clogging toilets with condoms and having his dog urinate everywhere. Sidebar: if he’s married, what’s with the condoms? He probably flushed them to get rid of the evidence cheating and now that he’s in the news for literally clogging toilets with them, that really looks bad. Add having to quarantine with your significant other and domestic violence nationwide has been up. He’s obviously not immune but this… is not okay. No report from his team has come yet.
