Jennifer Lopez had become a power couple yet again dating one of the biggest names in baseball, Alex Rodriguez and somehow it all went to sh**. From a $1.8 million engagement ring to the shared homes, just what went wrong? Well reports have come in that she had trust issues with him as of late. And what’s so unfortunate is that out of the two years they were engaged, they were supposed to be married already. The wedding kept getting put off because of COVID but given how things turned out, it appears that may have been for the best.

A friend of Lopez’ said of the breakup, “She insisted on it. There are are too many issues that are unresolved.” They said it came from the fact that she was unable to “trust” Rodriguez. And she came to this conclusion while in the Dominican Republic ironically filming her upcoming comedy ‘Shotgun Wedding’ the past few months.
The public announcement that they were working on relationship issues came on March 15th. “She has been pretty miserable,” says the friend, “and didn’t think it was in her best interests to stay with Alex.” Another friend said the quarantining together made things worse. “They both liked spending more time together as a family, but it was difficult to keep that special spark when they saw each other every day.”

It was rumored that Rodriguez had a wandering eye while she was out of town and she decided she wasn’t having it. “Whether or not he has cheated doesn’t matter,” a music source said. “She won’t tolerate the fear of it in the air between them.”
Now the hard part comes in untangling their lives as they have shared homes in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, “they’re especially sad for the kids since they are all so close,” says the Lopez friend. “It’s not a good situation but inevitable.” But she’ll be able to bounce back, a friend of hers says. “Jennifer has been in these difficult situations before. She is not one to sit around and cry. Her kids make her the happiest. She is doing well.”
“They will try to be friends, and there is respect there,” says a Miami source. “But they are definitely going their separate ways.”
JLo is turning 52 years old and one thing is for certain, she knows what she wants and she has no problem cutting anyone off. We’ve seen enough examples of that over the years.
And she’s wasted no time showing she’s moving on with her life and not thinking twice about what’s going on. The breakup was announced with her throwing a deuce at the camera, another pic of her laughing having coffee and smiling at the camera with coworkers on the set of Shotgun Wedding after wrapping up which is quite coincidental and convenient. She can now get on to having a Hot Girl Summer. Maybe she can hit up Megan Thee Stallion for a colab.
