Antonio Brown just settled a case he had involving rap and sexual assault with a former trainer of his, Britney Taylor and has officially re-signed with the Bucaneers days after. Now this case involved an incident from 2018 where the aftermath she said caused her to have “near-daily panic attacks, frequent suicidal ideations, and insomnia.” His attorney Alana Burstyn said about the two, “Antonio and Britney have been friends for over a decade. Several years ago they almost became business partners. Recently, they were involved in aggressive litigation.”
“Having reflected on their relationship, both feel that the time has come to move on. Antonio is grateful for Britney’s excellent training assistance. They are pleased that Antonio is doing so well with the Bucs and has a ring. Their dispute is resolved and they wish each other great continued success.”
Now that is quite a different tone than the “violent rape” he was accused of committing but apparently that’s all a thing of the past. And now that he doesn’t have that to worry about, he just now solidified a $6.25 million contract with the Bucaneers which also includes a $2 million signing bonus.
We’re glad to see life stabilizing for Brown because his erratic behavior had him out of the league where no one wanted to touch him not but so long ago. And what is interesting is that right after signing with the Bucaneers he almost immediately had a violent episode where he destroyed a security camera within his gated community in Hollywood, Florida and this time the league and his team apparently doesn’t care. They released a statement afterwards saying, “We are aware of the reported incident involving Antonio Brown prior to his signing. When Antonio joined us, we were clear about what we expected and required of him. Thus far, he has met all the expectations we have in place.” So it looks like it’s business as usual for Brown. Hopefully he can keep things together both for his career and children.
