Wendy Williams, who has now been officially a single woman for a year and some change has let her dating life play out on her show. It started with her making herself the Hot Topic section where she would talk about her life as what she calls ‘New Wendy’ to her having a virtual ‘Date Wendy’ contest. The winner was Maryland contractor Mike Esterman that she went on a few dates with but just decided to no longer pursue the relationship.
The 55 year old Esterman told Page Six, “She deserves to be with someone who may have more time.” He added that they were “never an item after 3 dates.” He went on to say “I had placed all work-related tasks aside to get to know her on a personal level, no angles or hidden agendas. I can only wish her the best as we both continue the search at our own paces and remain friends in the process.” Mike added that, “I have enjoyed our times together and felt great to be able to make her laugh.”
Over a weekend he told The Sun, “It’s a busy time of the year for home improvement, I don’t know if I can give her what she wants.” He added that “Nobody called it a day, there’s just no time to meet up. We talk when we can. I can’t hold her back from meeting someone who can give her more.”
Regarding Williams possibly moving on, he’s holding no qualms stating, “She’s allowed to meet others, we’re not in that type of relationship. She will find someone.” And talking about where his life is now, he said, “I have home projects, pool rentals starting now that things are opening up, requests for Mario (Lopez),and others are starting to come in for me to help with. I’m a workaholic!” He’s actually a longtime friend of Mario Lopez.
“I had placed all work-related tasks aside to get to know her on a personal level, no angles or hidden agendas,” he told The Sun. “I can only wish her the best as we both continue the search at our own paces and remain friends in the process. I have enjoyed our times together and felt great to be able to make her laugh.”
Williams talked about their first date on her March 8th show saying, “We kissed.” She then added “He’s got to stand on his tippy toes. I was thinking of you guys the whole time it was going on. I was thinking, ‘I really like him and he likes me.’ My heart broke when he left. I walked him to the elevator and waited for the doors to close.” The two visited Cheesecake Factory and Mike’s Crab House on Chesapeake Bay. They went to Ben’s Chili Bowl in DC at a subsequent date.
I have to say as someone from DC, I can appreciate hearing she was brought to Ben’s Chili Bowl. It’s almost a right of passage visiting DC> As for the Cheesecake Factory, it’s sort of known as a cheesy place. Just Google the epic “Cheesecake Factory rant” someone wrote detailing everything they detested about their architecture there. It’s quite funny. I know I don’t really want to be taken to the Cheesecake Factory so I don’t know how he came up with that as a date idea for a network television show host. Meh.
Ms. Williams has previously been married for over 20 years so it shouldn’t be expected for her to fall in the lap of a life partner just a year after divorce. But then again, she said she has no plans to live with a man again so if she messes up on her choice, it won’t be so bad because they won’t be living under the same roof anyway. Either way, it’s good to see her out enjoying herself considering all she went through with her ex.
