People are calling for Chrissy Teigen’s head on a platter tonight. She’s apologized for the God awful tweets she sent taunting Courtney Stodden when she was 16 for her to kill herself. At the time, Stodden had just married Doug Hutchinson, an actor in his 50s and Teigen, 10 years Stodden’s senior should have known better.

Teigen wrote to her near 14 million followers, “Not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for all their past bullshit in front of the entire world,” Teigen wrote to her 13.6 million followers. “I’m mortified and sad at who I used to be. I was an insecure, attention seeking troll. I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel. I have worked so hard to give you guys joy and be beloved and the feeling of letting you down is nearly unbearable, truly. These were not my only mistakes and surely won’t be my last as hard as I try but god I will try!! I have tried to connect with Courtney privately but since I publicly fueled all this, I want to also publicly apologize. I’m so sorry, Courtney. I hope you can heal now knowing how deeply sorry I am.”

And I am so sorry I let you guys down. I will forever work on being better than I was 10 years ago, 1 year ago, 6 months ago.

Stodden is still upset about the remarks that occurred in 2011 to include Joy Behar calling her a slut and b calling her a “whore,” which from what we understand isn’t something Love herself isn’t exactly unfamiliar with being called so she should probably have kept that to herself.
And to Stodden’s credit, despite being a woman many dislike just for waking up everyday, she was 16 years old. The tweets from Teigen ranged from a random “I hate you” to asking her “what drug makes you do that with your mouth?” I mean, really? I have a thing about picking on minors or young people. We’ve learned the effects of media bullying on Britney Spears during times of Dianne Sawyer berating her about what type of example she was setting dating at a young age etc. which sent her into tears. For what? Teigen even asked her to go take a “dirt nap.”
Now here’s something to know for all fairness about Twitter in 2011. There was something about yelling into the void that got a lot of people and being so easily accessible to others. Trolling with the nastiest most incindiery remarks was common then. You’ll notice a lot of people, if you research their tweets from 2011 and before, a lot of vile nastiness that they’ve all seemed to have toned down since, myself included. So I understand the time period. As for telling a teenager that isn’t even legal to go kill herself and to antagonize her several times over, I mean… did she sleep with her husband or try to? It really seemed personal.
And to those in politics who are saying she’s a cyberbully getting what she deserves.. Candace Owens said she’s been allowed to behave this way for years. Well so has she. Owens is a troll who trashes black people for clout so it is what it is. If you have engaged in the same trolling behavior that Teigen has just to own people politically, you have no say here which includes a lot of “political” people in 2021. And I’m using air quotes because no one knows what these people do other than make snippy remarks, just like what’s being called out here. Wasn’t Owens making fun of Andrew Gillum who nearly died of an overdose and carried on about it for hours? Spare me.
