Meghan McCain has spent 4 seasons at The View and her announcement of her departure seemingly drew applause from a lot of the show’s viewers. Recent months have had her in a number of memes being owned by the rest of the cast which is apparently largely why she wanted to leave to begin with. It’s now being reported that she wanted to make her exit not long after she began on the show.
“She’s been wanting to get out, especially since she now lives in the DC area with her family. She doesn’t want to come back to New York and be a part of that show. She’s been miserable since she started,” a source told Page Six.
After making her announcement Thursday, the source said “ABC begged for her to stay, [and] she said, ‘No — I’m done! I’m not staying anymore.’”
She was “even offered a contributor role on ABC News, which she turned down,” the insider said. “She’s just had enough. She doesn’t need it anymore — she really doesn’t need it.”
