Britney Spears was arrested this Wednesday evening around 9:30pm for driving erratically at high speeds and subsequently failing field sobriety tests in Westlake Village, not far from where she lives. She was released around 3am the next day after being taken to a hospital for a blood test to determine her blood alcohol count. And while charges are pending after the toxicology report is reviewed by the District Attorney’s office, her ex-husbands have already weighed in on the event.

First, her most recent ex-hubby, actor Sam Asghari who was married to her from 2022-2024 told Fox News, “My full attention has gone towards Iran at the moment and when it comes to people making mistakes, I understand that. I think everybody deserves privacy and I hope that the press has learned from the past, that they give her the privacy she needs.

Next up was Kevin Federline who she shares her two sons shared his thoughts through his attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan. “If help is necessary, he hopes that she will neither resist it or those who are attempting to work with her.”

A spokesperson for Spears described her actions as “completely inexcusable,” going on to say “ Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life.”

On Good Morning Britain Friday morning, her longtime friend and former assistant Sean Phillip rejected the idea that she needed another conservatorship when asked if he felt it was appropriate. He responded saying people don’t realize how things of that nature can “break you down.”

Now her team is said to be planning a recovery journey for her exploring options like mental health services, detox and dual-diagnosis programs. Whatever she does, she has a May 4th court date coming up and anything she enrolls herself in we’re sure will have less harsh consequences.

I can’t lie. When I first heard word of her DUI arrest, my first reaction was “Good for her. She deserves a drink or two and a wild night out.” And of course that’s completely inappropriate but none was hurt. And the way she was holed up in the house for years under that conservatorship, it is of no surprise she would end up in this type of situation. Hopefully her team comes up with a plan that provides a life balance for her moving forward.
