These days you can’t open millennial Instagram or Twitter without seeing Fashion Nova mentioned. Even if you don’t care about it, you know what it is. It’s the fashion brand that’s exploded breaking all conventional rules of how we look at clothing. Okay, that might be a little melodramatic but it’s true. The company is only 3 years old and not only is everyone wearing it, everyone’s talking about it. Celebs from Cassie, Cardi B, Kylie Jenner, Kris Jenner, Adrienne Bailon are all wearing it and this explosion in popularity of just one brand happened without a stitch of mainstream press. No fashion magazines, no runways, nope; this all happened organically on Instagram.
Google’s Year in Search report has been released and Fashion Nova ranks as the most searched fashion brand. Louis Vuitton and Versace came in second and third place, the former being well over 100 years old and the latter around 40. So just how did they do this? Having a roster of 3,000 social media influencers you can send free clothes to wear helps. And their ability to create styles celebrities are wearing within a matter of 24 hours on a mass scale makes them a manufacturing wonder. They also work with 500 sewing factories in Los Angeles with 80% of their clothing made in the city. We’ve been having a national conversation about bringing manufacturing back into the states. Maybe our leaders should speak to Fashion Nova and ask them how they do it. And it’s done by making the clothes affordable. It’s nothing to have individual pieces all well under $100. Keep in mind this is done without lobbying as well.
If you’re interested in what’s new with Fashion Nova, singer Cassie just did a new space aged promo video for the brand below:
