The school district has stated that students were taken to a nearby performing arts center, Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts in Mansfield, Texas to wait for their parents. Simpkins is said to be “armed and dangerous” and is driving a 2018 silver Dodge Charger. Out of the 4 victims, 3 were students and one likely a teacher. One had minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
Timberview opened in 2004, holds 1,900 students from 9th to 12th grade. This shooting comes just days after a Houston, TX charter school shooting took place and 3 years after the state’s deadliest shooting in May of 2018 where 10 people, mostly students were killed at Santa Fe High School.
