Nicki Minaj has had a tough time in introducing her husband Kenneth Petty to the public and the last week hasn’t helped any. He just registered as a sex offender today. That happened because he was arrested on the 4th for moving to California from New York without re-registering as one with his new address. This was necessary following a 1995 conviction of his for first degree attempted rape in 1995. He’s currently out on a $100,000 bond and has a follow up court date April 28th. He plead Not Guilty but is facing 10 years in prison if convicted.
Minaj addressed his background in the past on social media when his record was being drug through the internet where she said, “He was 15, she was 16… in a relationship. But go awf Internet. y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life.” She did the same with Wendy Williams last October when Williams brought up his past saying, “Now, he served seven years in prison and he’s also a sex offender,” she said. “So that means that he — is a manslaughter a killer? Okay, so he’s a killer and a sex offender. Well Nicki, congratulations.” Ouch.
Not willing to accept that lying down, she talked about how demonic she felt Williams was during an episode of her Queen Radio show saying, “It’s not about doing your job. There are people who report the news and there are people who do it with an evil intent in their heart, viciousness,” Minaj said. “And I pray for you because I know you’re hurting and I know you must be sick and humiliated. I didn’t know that in our society, you have to be plagued by your past,” she continued. “I didn’t know that people can’t turn over a new leaf. I didn’t know that your viciousness and evilness was this deep-rooted.”
Then she hit where it hurt, bringing up her 20 year marriage where her ex-husband was found to have cheated for over half of it, saying, “When a women isn’t really being loved at home, the viciousness is a different type. So I really wanted to pray for you today, because look at where you are now in your life,” she continued. “Look at what age you are. You’re sat up there being vicious all this time, and paid for that man’s mistress all these years. You paid for her shopping sprees, you paid for her hotels, you probably even paid for her GYN bills, you paid to have that baby delivered, hoe. How you doin’, stupid?” mocking Williams’ famous “How you doin’?” line.
Trying to humanize things, Minaj continued, “I know we’re human first, we’re human before we’re celebrities, we’re human before we’re personas,” she said. “And I know you must have gone through a lot. But you are demonic, and that’s why this stuff unfolded. If I were you, I would go and pray, ask for forgiveness. You can report the news — people do it all the time — without the level of viciousness and trying to play dumb and doing all this nonsense.”
At this point in the game, it’s clear that Minaj is in it for the long haul with Petty. They married in October and you have to really love someone to put up with the type of criticism she has. Phew. She’s even turned off the comments on pictures they’ve taken together. Even we have to admit that’s taking things too far to be trolling their pics. But if she’s happy, that’s what matters. And we hope she makes sure he stays on top of those registrations of his in the event they move again. This is certainly no way to start a rekindled romance. Don’t forget they dated as teenagers and lost contact just about up until now. The couple has our best.
