The saying about all black people looking the same to some people just had one more example of it being true this week during a Robiin Roberts hosted segment on people who passed away this year that aired December 26th. When it came time for an image of TakeOff to be shown as a recently deceased member of the rap group Migos, fans became outraged after seeing Quavo come across the screen instead. Comments ranged from calling it “disrespectful af” to others simply asking “why?” ABC did catch on to their error and tweeted an apology hours later saying, “We apologize for the unfortunate error in a previous version of ‘The Year: 2022.’ It has been corrected” sharing an updated video montage with the correct photo in it.
So I’m watching #TheYear on @abc and was caught off guard by the disrespect and ignorance of the programming. All black people don’t look the same and y’all got this one wrong, the person is the picture is clearly, clearly @Quavonyrn do better @abc @Migos @NowHipHopNews_ pic.twitter.com/KIdQod1DVx

Nearly two months after his untimely death in a shooting outside of a Houston bowling alley, we so far know from his autopsy that he died of “penetrating gunshot wounds of head and torso into arm.” The alleged triggerman Patrick Clark has been arrested and his second bond reduction request was denied just this week. His bond currently sits at $1 million after unsuccessfully being requested to be dropped to $300,000. It was, however originally set for $2 million. The first of the arrests in TakeOff’s death was 16 year old rapper Lil Cam who was taken into custody November 22nd and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon.

The other Migos member Offset recently held a Christmas toy giveaway thanking everyone for supporting him, adding “Y’all hold me up. You know we’ve been going through a tough time, but God is good.” He was complimented by the mayor of Lawrenceville, GA while there and told Fox 5, “I like to see when celebrities give back to the community, and you know, do their best to make sure that the kids get where they need to go.” He’s recently stated that he had been going about life fake smiling. We can at leaast say that helping others is a great way to get over a loved one that’s lost and we’re sure his cousin TakeOff would have wanted to see him continuing on both in his purpose and inspiring others in his death.
