Adele is a happy girl this year. Her Vegas residency finally kicked off in November after nearly a year of delays when she had a meltdown practically right before it started and her relationship with sports agent Rich Paul is thriving. And it’s thriving so much that it’s being reported that the two are engaged as evidenced by the giant rock she’s been sporting for the past year. The pear shaped diamond made its first debut at last year’s BRIT Awards. But it wasn’t made clear until recently that the two have intentions on tying the knot.
The claim of what is to be a pending summer wedding came from gossip column Deux Moi that stated it came from a “very reliable source.” Back in December she paid a tribute to Paul during one of her Vegas shows singing him happy birthday. She added, “And I love him more than life itself, so can we wish him happy birthday? His name’s Rich.” Posing together at the Super Bowl this month as well as the Grammys. In an August Elle Magazine interview, she said her dream was to be a “homemaker,” get married and have children. She also said that life after Vegas will be all about life with Rich and said that she’s as “happy as I’ll ever be.”
The couple first met at a party in 2021 months after divorcing from husband Simon Konecki. She joked to British Vogue that she met while she was “a bit drunk” and asked him, “Do you want to sign me? I’m an athlete now.” The two moved in together by May of 2022 in a $58 million 4th property of hers. And as for that rock on her hand, Alexandra Michell, gemologist at Prestige Pawnbrokers of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn said “Adele is rocking an approx. 8cts pear cut diamond on a fine platinum band and simple four-claw setting. The band itself is pave set with small round brilliants on either side of the centre stone. A beautiful design where the pear shape stone diamond really stands out. If this 8cts stone is D colour and IF clarity grade, the price tag would easily top over half a million pounds.”
