We recently reported that Amanda Bynes had announced being pregnant, posting a pic of her ultrasound. And just when we were ready to congratulate her, she deleted it. We assumed something was wrong but it wasn’t the right time to bring it up. Whatever was happening, we’d likely hear about it when appropriate. And just like that, her lawyer made the announcement that she was seeking treatment for mental health issues and asked for privacy.
The exact statement read “Any reports that Amanda is suffering from drug or alcohol addiction issues are completely false,” her lawyer David Esquibias shared. “We ask for privacy during this time, and for any speculation about her personal life from the public and the media to cease so Amanda can focus on getting better.” And to add insult to injury, there’s a possibility that she could lose custody of her child after giving birth due to her parents being her conservators due to her mental health state. At minimum her parents could share custody. And in direct response to who would have custody of her child, her attorney made a following statement saying, “I’m not confirming that Amanda is expecting and because of that it’s premature for anyone to speculate about who would have custody of Amanda’s unborn child.”
Bynes has been through a lot over the years and at this point, we just want to see her do better and hopefully if things level out for her she can start acting again. Remember she’s only a few months out of rehab with mental health issues she has to get under control. Britney Spears has gone through similar with a decade plus conservatorship and a medication list that got out of whack last year that prevented her from working. Both have our prayers.
