Antonio Brown has been a firestorm as of late. But there are degrees to NFL firestorms. There is Colin Kaepernick and then there is Antonio Brown. At least in Kaepernick’s case, he was fighting for a cause. As for Brown, it’s hard to tell what he’s fighting for. It seems as though he’s just fighting the air at this point. We’ve covered the 2 teams he was dropped from, all in a matter of 10 days all from a number of shenanigans we’ve had a hard time keeping up with, but he appears to be apologetic these days. This morning he made a post on Instagram expressing remorse for his behavior, apologizing to Patriots owner Robert Kraft and how he never meant to cause anyone any harm.
Never meant to cause harm, he says. He was kicked off of the Raiders and posted a video of the phone call he had with the coach about it on Youtube, there’s the menacing text messages where he instructed one of his friends to go after a woman painting a mural in his house like goons, he’s thrown furniture and vases out of his condo window nearly hitting a child, terrifying them, cases of sexual assault and his harassing social media behavior, but who are we to keep count?
“Mr.Kraft I apologize sincerely to you and your organization! All I wanted to be was an asset to the organization; sorry for the bad media and the drama ! Thank you sincerely AB” he wrote on Instagram. That was cute, although his arrogance has squarely been on display ever since being cut including him tweeting after his last team cut, “The game need me I’m like test answers.” He went on to say, “I’m still the best why stop now.” And who could forget him bringing up Kraft’s only legal woes saying, “Kraft got caught in the parlor AB speculations fired different strokes different folks clearly.” Now while that might have been a point, attempting to interfere in your boss or former boss’ current litigation isn’t exactly the brightest move, especially when you might come to them again in the future. And after the Seahawks came close to signing him last week and ultimately changed their mind, he saw the writing on the wall and said enough is enough, let me go ahead and saw that I’m sorry.
Hopefully Brown’s apology to Robert Kraft works regarding him getting back into either the Patriots or the NFL but we’re willing to bet that team owners are just sitting and waiting to see if he’s capable of going a few months drama free. At the rate he’s burned himself out in the headlines this year, that would truly be a miracle, but we’re hopeful… and if for no other reason than the general public for having to witness it and his children.
