Just a week after being accused of raping a woman, New England Patriots player Antonio Brown is now being accused of threatening another woman by text. In this case, an unnamed woman took texts she received from Brown while in the middle of painting a mural of him on the wall of his Pittsburgh home and through her attorney, sent them to the NFL asking for help to get the harassment to stop. As the story goes, while painting the mural, he appeared in front of her completely naked covering only his genitals with a towel. She paid him no attention and continued to do so through a series of other encounters before being ghosted by him, not responding to her inquiries on when she would get to finish the mural despite already being paid to do it.

The crazy part about this accusation is that it involved a series of group text messages in 2017 which means others also have the messages. In these messages he instructed someone else to investigate her and find out how broke she is, to which they responded back with pictures of her children saying she was obviously broke. Clearly whatever he said he wasn’t too afraid of being out there because if he was he would have kept his threats outside of group chats. Rule #1 to threatening people: Make sure it’s done in a discreet location where there are no witnesses or receipts to come of it. This advice would have saved him from what he’s going through now.

The artist’s attorney Lisa J. Banks is who contacted the NFL not only about Brown’s behavior but let them know that he was violating the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. This was all shared with Sports Illustrated’s Robert Klemko by the woman’s attorney, Banks, stating “Our client…is understandably frightened by these text messages, which are clearly intended to threaten and intimidate her. While she certainly qualifies as a ‘starving artist,’ she has never approached Mr. Brown, nor will she, about seeking money to compensate her for his sexual misconduct, contrary to his allegations in the text messages.”

At this point, we’re starting to wonder if he’s bipolar and has an actual issue for the type of behavior he’s been experiencing. And if you think reading about it is exhausting, imagine the Patriots’ coach. Poor Bill Belichick walked off of a press conference today after just 3 minutes because he got sick of getting questions about Brown. He did, however say, “I know there are questions about Antonio. We take all the situations with our team very seriously. There are some things we’re looking into.” And that was the end of that. Then there’s Nike. Not only did they drop him, they didn’t offer an explanation. “Antonio Brown is not a Nike athlete,” a Nike spokesperson said. NO further elaboration was offered, either.

This isn’t Antonio Brown’s month. We’re just going to pray that whatever he’s going through he gets through and that he does something about that attitude of his because it’s clearly not doing him any favors.
