While Babyface announced separation from his wife of 7 years, Nicole Pantenburg earlier this month, they’re already quickly working on moving on with their lives. The 12 time Grammy winner is asking for joint custody of their 12 year old daughter Peyton Nicole and has himself listed as being responsible for spousal support. The documents went on to say the “full nature and extent of separate property assets and debts are unknown” but add that he will “seek to amend” once they have been ascertained and wants the court to uphold their prenup.
Their separation statement made to People Magazine last month read, “After much thought and with great sadness, we have decided to end our marriage. We continue to care and have respect for one another and share eternal love for our daughter and her well-being,” their statement read. “We ask for personal privacy for ourselves and our daughter as we navigate these new steps as a family.”
Their announcement came literally 2 months after he revealed his family had COVID in August 2020 right around his last birthday. “I feel so blessed to celebrate another birthday… it’s an incredibly scary thing to go through my friends,” Edmonds said of his diagnosis. “I’m happy to report we have now tested negative and are on our way back to full health.”
It’s nothing like a pandemic diagnosis and being quarantined together to cause people to re-evaluate their relationships. And he isn’t exempt which is why their date of separation was listed as just 2 months after that.
