Former President Donald Trump has a new nemesis and it comes in the form of pop star Beyonce who is threatening legal action for his presidential campaign using her music without her permission. A spokesperson of Trump’s, Steven Cheung posted a video of Trump exiting a plane this Tuesday to her track Freedom featuring Kendrick Lamar from her 2016 Lemonade album captioned with “Touchdown in Michigan!!” The thing is that Kamala Harris has used it at a number of her campaign events as well and even created campaign ads with the very song just this Monday. And by Wednesday, reports of Beyonce’s camp threatening a cease and desist order to the Trump campaign.
Harris has received permission for her use of the song and Trump has not. She’s used it since her first public appearance when she accepted the Democrat nomination. In her most recent campaign ad she said “There are some people who think we should be a country of chaos. Of fear. Of hate. But us? We choose something different. We choose freedom.”
Fans began to defend Harris and expressed their shock at Trump using the song saying, Freedom is a song written about slavery and police brutality against POC. How disgusting and despicable for any of you to use it to support that convicted felon,” one stated. “I know she didn’t green light this nonsense… I can’t wait until her legal team finds you,” another wrote. You must be kidding, using the @Beyonce song of the Kamala campaign!? Stealing everything has consequences” exclaimed another. And while Beyonce hasn’t officially endorsed anyone this time around, it’s rumored that she will be performing for the closing night at Democratic National Convention tonight so that might be changing very soon.
The thing is that Trump has a history of using unauthorized music for his campaigns. Aerosmith, Queen, Rihanna, Elton John, Prince and Adele are just a short list. The thing is you can’t criticize liberals and then choose to use their music in your campaigns. There’s plenty of Conservative artists he could choose from. Just why is it he won’t use any of those? Oh, all of the creatives happen to be on the Left? Well that’s what happens when you choose an unpopular party. You tend to have less people to choose from to work with. In the end, Trump’s campaign removed the video. I guess they’ll be looking for another unauthorized song to get sued for later. Source
