Billy Ray Cyrus’ ex Firerose is speaking out further about her 7 month marriage with the country singer which she has described pretty much as traumatizing. To start, she accused him of “extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse,” after he filed for divorce from her this summer. And she accused him of trying to isolate her from his family, something abusers tend to do… keeping you all to themselves and away from family. In a new interview with Stellar, she details how she wishes she never married him to begin with.

The two first met over a decade ago when she was 22 and working on the set of Hannah Montana when he was still married to his ex-wife. She said she felt deep down that something wasn’t right. “My gut instinct, honestly, was: What does this guy want?” she said. “I probably should have had way better boundaries.” She added, “When I think about what I just went through, I would have told my 22-year-old self to run in the opposite direction and never look back.” The two eventually came together during the pandemic where “He’d say bizarre things like, ‘We’re going to have this epic love story beyond anything you can imagine. We’re going to have twins, and call them Melody and Harmony,'”

Firerose said Cyrus was controlling and only allowed her one guest at their wedding. “I was allowed to have her over because she was doing my hair. It was quite hurtful, in retrospect, and it breaks my heart. How did I not think that that was so weird and unacceptable? I justified it like, well, that’s my life now. I accepted his lunacy as reality.”
