Birdan has been an industry figure for decades and longer than a lot of people who listen to the music his artists make have been alive. And he posted a shirtless pic on Instagram reminding the world of his legacy and how it should be respected. And after all, this man is responsible for the careers of rap’s modern heavyweights Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Hot Boys. And just like he told Charlamagne and crew in 2016, he still means it today. Put some “respeck” on this man’s name.
“Over 1BILLION records sold over 700BILLIONS STREAMS over 700MILLION on iTunes been with same label 23yrs #universal music group I own my label 100percent @cashmoneyofficial Cashmoney records biggest independent label ever in music history #RICHGANG🦅#IDOIt4MSGLADYS❤️ #BUILT2LAST #UPTOWNLIVINLEGEND🙏🐍🦅🌍” he wrote.

And the man is bringing in bank… and rightfully so. Last month in an interview with Where’s Wallo, he said he brings in $20-$30 million from his masters. “We license the music. I just started letting people sample my sh*t. So yeah, it’s a gang of ways you can make money with your masters. We generate $20-30 million a year just on our masters.”
Last year he put out a docuseries on Spotify called the New Cash Order documenting his rise to stardom from the 90s. “From the New Orleans Magnolia Housing Projects to some of the country’s most esteemed music studios, the series tells the genesis story of Cash Money Records’ meteoric rise to success. Through a series of interviews and archival footage, Slim and Birdman unveil never-before-seen takes behind the million-dollar deals that have maintained Cash Money as a label standing the test of time,” the official press release stated.
So you heard the man. Give him his flowers AND respect.
