Rapper Bobby Shmurda’s been home for a few years and he’s already fast at turning his life around. Over the weekend he held a “Father’s Day Give Back Brunch in Brooklyn serving 200 underprivileged families. Accompanied by 3 barbers, he gave away haircuts and free meals to those at The Win Shelter feeding them all Caribbean brunch, featuring jerk salmon, curried chickpeas, stewed chicken, mac and cheese and other options. The press release stated the haircuts were to help these men “feel their best” for the holiday.
Other items given away to the families in need included gaming consoles, board games, action figures, fooftballs, jump ropes, costumes and more. Dads also received new clothing and books. Leftover means were given to CAMBA Men’s Shelter in Brooklyn.
And for the hardcore Shmurda fans, he’s going to be a part of the Made in America festival this September with headliners Justin Bieber and Lil Baby for its 10th anniversary. Megan thee Stallion and Freddie Gibbs wil also be performing.
Given how Shmurda grew up with his father being in prison and knowing what it’s like not having one around, it’s good to see that he’s trying to help those in their children’s life that are trying.
