Britney Spears going public asking for the end of her conservatorship is nothing new. Her former manager Sam Lufti posted voicemails from her in 2009 asking for it to end way back then. Page Six reports that he “has leaked them in the past” but he’s posting them again as they’re obviously quite relevant today. “They were all left on my phone,” he said about the footage.
Lufti was blamed by her family for her breakdown which given how their actions are being called into question by Britney and the public, that should be taken with a grain of salt. In the audio you can hear her saying in 2009 “I want out of this conservatorship.”
The footage continues on with her saying, “I’ve been blackmailed by visitation with my babies by the conservatorship. I’m confined, restrained and stripped of my civil rights. And I demand the state of California to review this case because I feel it’s illegal. Bye.”
In the second video Spears can be heard saying her father was trying to take away her children. “I’m calling again because I just wanted to make sure that during the process of eliminating the conservatorship that my father has threatened me several times, that you know, he’ll take my children away,” she said. “I just want to be guaranteed that everything will be fine with the process and that you guys are taking care of everything, that things will stay the same as far as my custodial time.”
In a third video, again in 2009 she’s asking for new counsel. It took from 2009 to 2021 for that to actually happen. Her new attorney is Mathew Rosengart. Her court appointed attorney Samuel D. Ingham III remained on all of these years against her will. “I want Jon Eardley and John Patterson to represent me as court-appointed attorney in my best interests and my best wishes,” she’s heard saying.
