Lizzo is back with a new song with Cardi B. Two larger than life personalities are bound to be in our faces with their presence in this new hit, Rumors. The only thing about egos in the industry is that they too have their other side. And that is what Lizzo chose to share while on Instagram Live breaking down crying talking about nasty comments she receives on the internet from time to time.

In the video she can be seen saying, “For the most part, it doesn’t hurt my feelings. I don’t care,” she said during the livestream. “I just think when I’m working this hard, my tolerance gets lower, my patience is lower, I’m more sensitive and it gets to me.” She went on to tweet, “Loving yourself in a world that don’t love u back takes an incredible amount of self awareness & a bullshit detector that can see through ass backwards societal standards… if u managed to love yourself today I’m proud of u. If u haven’t, I’m still proud of u. This shits hard.”

To her defense came Cardi B who has received her share of criticism in life saying, “When you stand up for yourself they claim your problematic & sensitive,” the rapper wrote. “When you don’t they tear you apart until you crying like this. Whether you skinny, big, plastic, they going to always try to put their insecurities on you.” Cardi added, “Remember these are nerds looking at the popular table.”

Missy even tapped in and sent her flowers to make her feel better.

And Cardi’s absolutely right. Both of them are tremendously talented. Their critics likely have nowhere near their talent and a lot of it simply is bullying. Remember Cardi B became the center of political debate when she interviewed a future President Joe Biden. And let’s be clear what the premise of the discussion was about. Cardi B was essentially said not to be good enough to speak to a party nominee for president which is as bigoted as they come. But this came from Candace Owens. It’s only to be expected.

Lizzo is constantly under attack for not following body norms. To do so and continue doing it for years on end is bullying and quite frankly none of these people’s business. One would think after seeing her break down crying it would encourage others to stop, but we know it won’t. We just hope that she remains encouraged and doesn’t let these people get to her.
