Cardi B spoke to AJ Calloway from Entertainment Tonight during Super Bowl weekend and after informing her she was bigger than the Super Bowl, he asked about her relationship. She said that after splitting up this past December, the two were working things out. However, in a recent Harper’s Bazaar interview, she seems to have had a bit of a change of heart. Her husband, Offset asked to go to counseling, and her response was a resounding no.
“I didn’t want to go to marriage counseling,” Cardi revealed. “He suggested it, but it’s like, ‘I don’t want to go.’ There’s no counselor or nothing that could make me change my mind.” When asked if she and Offset have an actual chance of getting back together she simply replied “I don’t think so,” and “Who knows? You never know, you can never tell.” She also revealed that while Offset has visited her apartment they really don’t talk. And that shouldn’t be any surprise considering how she’s said multiple times that the only thing she missed from him was his sex.
She went on to say that there isn’t much she cares about these days, just her career and raising her daughter Kulture. “Before, I cared about everything — relationship, gossip. Now I don’t feel like I have the time to please people,” she said. “I don’t care about anything anymore — just my career and my kid.”
Her stance is understandable given the fact that their issues appear to have stemmed from him cheating so why would she want to see a therapist for an issue someone else caused? Unfortunately, that’s marriage for you. It takes compromise and if a few sessions can keep you from splitting up for the sake of your child, it might be worth a try. And a lot of this came from comments others were making about her relationships. If she chooses to throw in the towel, that means they’ve won and that’s the last thing you want to happen.
She also touched on what childbirth was like. “For some reason, I still don’t feel like my body’s the same,” she said. “I feel like I don’t have my balance right yet. When it comes to heels, I’m not as good at walking anymore. I feel like I’m holding a weight on me. I don’t know why because I’m skinnier than I’ve ever been. But there’s an energy I haven’t gotten back yet that I had before I was pregnant. It’s just the weirdest thing.”
In the end, Cardi has what many wish they had, so hopefully she’ll consider a little bit of a tradeoff for the sake of her family. We’re sure she’ll thank us for this nugget of advice in the future. Even if she doesn’t, Cardi B has had a meteoric rise to the top with what appeared to have been overnight. Her rags to riches story she tells in the March 2019 edition of Harper’s Bazaar out February 19th. You can read their full story on Cardi here.
