For those that don’t know, Cash Money rapper B.G.’s been behind bars since 2012 for illegal gun possession and witness tampering. He along with his lawyers and Cash Money Records co-founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams have tried unsuccessfully to get him released early. His latest attempt was met with an 11 page ruling from U.S. District Judge Susie Morgan who said he “has not presented compelling and extraordinary reasons for his compassionate release and should therefore stay in federal prison until the end of his sentence in 2024.”

He asked for compassionate release in May 2020 citing his susceptibility to getting COVID stating he has a list of health concerns despite not naming any. “He claims that he suffers from ‘a host of health problems’ but provides no specifics and no documentation or medical records to prove his allegations,” wrote United States attorney Peter G. Strasser at the time.

Judge Morgan said that his claims of enough being enough and how he is ready to lead a different life on the outside didn’t hold water because his behavior behind bars seemed too similar to that which he’s exhibited before he went in there.

“Dorsey argues he has been rehabilitated and is no longer the same person who committed these offenses,” Morgan wrote in her ruling. “His prison record belies such an argument.” From possessing weapons and using drugs she named a dozen rule violations of his going back the last 7 years.
