After speculation of being pregnant and saying nothing, City Girls rapper Yung Miami just announced on Instagram that she is in fact expecting. Posting a well developed baby bump, she clearly has known for some time and sprung it on us all. She’s been posting regular photos everyday and one with a giant baby bump out of nowhere.
Her pregnancy announcement was captioned with “I’ve been going back and forth to share this moment with my fans. But on MY TERMS! I want this journey to be nothing but positive going forward and I wanted to share this with y’all. No one knows what is best for me but GOD, and this was just his timing for me. Everybody doubted me and said I shouldn’t be rapping and that I wouldn’t be able to hold the group down while JT was away but I did just that and then some, to the point that you all have made this experience as an rapper so fulfilling that I cannot wait to show more of what I really have in store for my fans.
I did everything they said I couldn’t because that’s just the type of woman I am and going to continue to be. Pregnancy is a beautiful thing and life changing, so I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for the City Girls! This is my personal life and it is what it is! PERIOD -Yung Miami.”
Pregnancy is a beautiful thing and we’re glad to see that she’s happy with her producer Southside but this isn’t exactly the best timing for this. We were just thinking the other day about how awesome is what the music video for Act Up was done as a block party and everyone else lipping along to her still incarcerated fellow group member JT’s part making it look seamless, supporting Yung Miami’s efforts to keep things together for the remainder of the next year she’s expected to be behind bars. And now she reveals she’s pregnant. It wasn’t long ago that Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star Hazel E made a diss song at them for allegedly stealing the beat to the song Act Up from her song Actin’ Up where she said their future was looking dim since one of them is behind bars. It also makes sense now why Southside was attacking Hazel E so hard because she threatened to beat up Miami while she was pregnant. Unfortunately she didn’t know that at the time. this isn’t the 90s and long gone are the days where artists are fired for getting pregnant.
If Cardi B can do it and keep her career going, Yung Miami probably figures she can do the same. The only problem is hr caption about doing it her way. As an artist signed to a label and especially one just doing their first album, it’s probably not the time to be doing things your way.. especially when you have a lot riding on your career. This is a group of girls who raps about their history of scamming people and if they’re not careful with their career decisions regarding things including getting pregnant, they’ll be right back scamming people. Either way, congrats and don’t let your eye off of that bag while staring at your man.
Meanwhile, she’s starring in a new documentary about the City Girls which is interesting considering the other half isn’t available for filming so we’re sure it’s mostly going to be about Yung Miami. She’ll be discussing their rise to fame as well as her pregnancy journey so we can all expect to hear more about this in the near future.
