What does one get their significant other who’s worth about a half billion dollars? Well at that stage, you don’t just buy them anything, it’s got to be something extremely rare. That’s why soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo got a $900,000 car for his birthday as a surprise after dinner Wednesday night, one of only 10 in existence. The car is a Brabus G V12 900 Mercedes with 900 horsepower, double that of a regular G Wagon that can go from 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds, topping off at 174 mph. The car also has a Widestar body kit that makes the car a full 10 centimeters wider. His girlfriend, model Georgina Rodriguez had the car waiting for him outside of the restaurant they were eating at wrapped with a bow with friends of his outside throwing confetti during the announcement. She captioned footage of her giving him the car, saying “Congratulations to the man of my life! I can’t wait to transport our love with your gift” in Spanish.
The very thought of him being this successful at soccer is something he says he never dreamed of happening. He told the Mexican television network Canal 11, “At 35? I thought I was going to be a fisherman in Madeira,” Ronaldo said. “This never came into my mind. I wanted to be a professional footballer, but I didn’t think I was going to win everything I’ve won.” But he’s gone on to become arguably the biggest in his sport and just revealed he wants to play well into his 40s. He just broke a record scoring for his team Juventus so if you’ve got it, you may as well keep it up for as long as you can.
