D’Angelo, as one of the most iconic modern R&B figures has announced he’s going to be accepting the challenge and participating in the Verzuz challenge. He doesn’t have a challenger announced just yet but whoever it is, they won’t be battling a lightweight. He’s a 4x Grammy award winning artist known for his voice, but some may have forgotten that he plays the piano, drums, saxophone, guitar, and bass and has produced music for a number of big names out there. So whoever he’s up against, they’d better be ready.
Other big names that have stepped on the Verzuz stage are Brandy and Monica which is always fun seeing them together especially since Monica punched Brandy back in the 90s. Then there’s Keyshia Cole and Ashanti and their alleged history of a love triangle… you’re probably noticing a trend here. But still, it’s always great seeing D’Angelo on stage, especially after the near decade and a half he disappeared from the industry through about 2014. He’ll be back on stage before us where he belongs.
