Tom Hanks’ son Chet Hanks is making the news for his declaration of a White Boy Summer this year. Yes, he literally got up and thought in 2021, at a time where the country is trying to come together during a pandemic, when people are being canceled for overt acts of racism in quite speedy terms, thought we needed a White Boy Summer. Some have found it funny. Personally, I’m side eying him. But now that the world has finished asking who is Chet Hanks and why is this happening, one person who’s decided to make her opinion known who is never to be questioned is Dionne Warwick.
That it’s about to be a white boy summer. pic.twitter.com/xwwKahLah2

I will be having a Black Woman Summer. What foolishness did I just see?

Before getting into what was said, we have to lay some ground rules here. When the woman who has only one other female artist that has charted more than her who isn’t alive anymore (Aretha Franklin) says something, that’s it. It’s final. So when she responds to someone like Chet Hanks and says we will not be having a White Boy Summer, but instead there will be a Black Woman Summer. That’s what it is. That’s it, no debate or appeal needed. Megan Thee Stallion has previously declared a Hot Girl Summer and this year a Pretty B*tch Summer but now that Warwick has made her announcement, I guess that’s what we have to go with. We do have to thank Ms. Warwick for helping to give our 2021 some direction.
