It’s been a few months since NBA Youngboy deleted all of his social media but now it looks like he’s got a new project coming out according to his friend DJ Akademiks. Titled The Last Slimeto with a pre-order date of Friday, March 25th, Akademiks gave an update on Youngboy on Twitter saying, “Talked to YB .. he in great spirits n focused … I complimented him on his work ethic dropping so much music and so consistently n he said this the average for him.. he got a whole nother level … n said “The Last Slimeto” a album not a EP. want his fans to pre order it fri.”

It’s also worth noting that this week NBA Youngboy has been Youtube’s top artist every week so far this year officially passing 10 billion views on the website at just 22 years old. He also makes $17 million a year from Youtube alone. And with his wild success, he still doesn’t get much radioplay with many believing he’s been blackballed by radio and the mainstream media. With his rap sheet, 8 children and the video of him bodyslamming his girl a few years ago, that gives some backdrop to why it might be happening. Rapper 21 Savage said the industry’s loyalty to Lil Durk is what keeps him off the airwaves. Either way, he still has one of the game’s strongest fan bases because he’s able to surpass everyone else’s numbers everywhere else without radio.
Meanwhile Youngboy and DaBaby just set off a new TikTok dance trend in their Bestie video. The video was produced by DaBaby and was their latest promo effort for their joint mixtape Better Than You out now. The video which shows two women coming into their place to join the party is the source of what’s now known as the “Bestie Challenge.”
