After being placed in a medically induced coma over the weekend, Dog the Bounty Hunter’s wife, Beth Chapman lost her 3 year battle with throat cancer and passed away. A tweet from Dog came this morning saying, “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven,” confirming her passing. “We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.” An attorney for the Chapman family stated, “Sadly, Beth passed away a little while ago.”
When placed under a medically induced coma due to her condition worsening, the family’s agent stated “Beth is one of the strongest people I’ve ever known, and if anyone can beat this, it’s her. No matter what happens, she and the family have placed all of their hope, faith, and trust in God. Other than that, I’d just ask that all of her and Duane’s fans keep Beth and the entire family in their prayers.”
“Please say your prayers for Beth right now,” Dog tweeted. “Thank you love you.” Dog shared a photo holding Beth’s hand showing off her nails although probably not deliberately showing the IV in her hand. “You all know how she is about HER NAILS !!” he captioned the photo showing off her signature bedazzled manicure.
Going back to when she was first diagnosed with stage II throat cancer in September 2017, she had a tumor the size of a plum removed along with her lymph nodes over a 13 hour surgery. She was left cancer free at the time, all over a two-hour A&E special titled Dog & Beth: Fight of Their Lives. “We cannot let this experience tear us apart,” she told her family on camera. “We need to bring us together. If this is the worst of it, then all it can be is better.”
The couple that spent around 30 years together raising a full dozen children were married one day after their 23-year-old daughter Barbara Katy Chapman died in a car accident. They decided to go on with the ceremony to celebrate her life. Their claim to fame has been 8 seasons of Dog the Bounty Hunter and CMT’s Dog and Beth: On the Hunt. She was listed as being the youngest person in Colorado to get a bail license before her daughter broke that record. Our prayers are with her family at this time.
