While people like Cardi B are on Instagram claiming that celebrities who have the coronavirus are being paid to say they have it and Michael Rappaport is angrily cursing full voice at the president to do his job, Dolly Parton has a different outlook on things. She did a rather top heavy video (pun-intended) starting off singing saying we were “climbing the stairway to heaven ’cause this virus has scared the H-E-L-L out of us.” It was cute and as we said, it was top heavy because she was visibly holding on to and leaning on a stair railing as though she were going to topple over at any moment. The 74 year old’s not as young as she used to be and could probably use a little help holding those torpedos in front of her up these days.

She went on to say “I’m not making light out of the situation. Well, maybe I am because it’s the light, I believe, that’s going to dissolve the situation. I think God is in this, I really do. I think he’s trying to hold us up to the light so we can see ourselves and see each other through the eyes of love, and I hope we learn that lesson. I think that when this passes we’re all gonna be better people.”

She said she’s keeping a “positive attitude” and understands the worries a lot of people out there are having. “So just keep the faith, don’t be too scared,” she ended her brief message. “It’s going to be alright. God loves us.”

That was cute of her. It’s hard to be upset at Dolly Parton despite the fact she’s worth $600 million and can smile just a little bit harder than most in these types of events, she’s right. There are lessons to learn here including trusting God, being positive, saving money. Now we have to admit that seeing the original headline of her saying this was a lesson, we were just a little concerned. For a moment we thought she had gone all Pat Robertson on our asses and then we’d have to read her for a minute. Thankfully that was not the case. We can all let out a sigh of relief on that one. She’s still good in our books.
