Drake’s Certified Lover Boy album is finally out and he’s already storming the charts. Kanye’s DONDA album had just broke the record for the most streams in a day at 60 million when his project came out and already Drake’s surpassed that. The 21 track album boasts features from the likes of Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, 21 Savage, Future, Ty Dolla Sign, Young Thug and Kid Cudi.
And Drake’s still proving himself to be the cool guy everyone wants to hang out with by having a ton of athletes in his Laugh Now Cry Later video to include Kevin Durant and NFL stars Odell Beckham Jr. and Marshawn Lynch.
The album’s receiving its share of praise as well. Atlanta Hawks player Trae Young asked when are we going to say he’s passed Jay-Z? Its Metacritic score at the moment is in the 60s but only 6 reviews have been weighed so far so we’ll see how this plays out in the long run. His praise so far has consisted of acknowledging his range as an artist and that this is a solid project, but one that doesn’t stray too far from his standard formula. Still the rush to download it proves he’s still one of the most bankable artists in the game.
