Ed Sheeran revealed he’s tested positive for COVID on Instagram today and thus will have to pull back from his work responsibilities. “Hey guys. Quick note to tell you that I’ve sadly tested positive for Covid, so I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines,” he wrote. “It means that I’m now unable to plough ahead with any in person commitments for now, so I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house. Apologies to anyone I’ve let down. Be safe everyone x,” he added.

He has just a week before his new album “=” is due to be out so one would imagine that’s quite the inconvenience to have to hault his press engagements at such a critical time. He was planned to be the musical guest on SNL alongside Kieran Culkin on November 6th. That’s about 2 weeks from now, close to the quarantine limit so whether he’ll still be able to make it for that show time, we’ll see. He was also planned to be a musical mentor for The Voice but that was pre-taped. We’ll see if he still makes a live appearance or not as well. In the meantime, we’ll be praying for his speedy recovery.
