Eminem was a guest judge on this season of Netflix music competition show Rhythm + Flow and gave a major compliment to rapper Latto. He told her “I love you, by the way, you’re f*cking incredible” which in itself is quite incredible given his status as one of the rap greats over the past 25 years. In the greater female rap debate where you have Nicki Minaj who has for years accused the industry of trying to take her down, and when asked for Halloween what she’d be and she said “The same thing I was last year… The Queen of Rap,” it says a lot for someone of his stature to issue that type of compliment.

Eminem joined the likes of Latto, Royce Da 5’9”, Mr. Porter, and host SMACK in the basement of Detroit’s St. Andrews Hall, one of the first venues Eminem performed in, he was tasked with judging the 14 rappers who had to come up with some of their best raps. He let the rappers know in a basement clip what he looks for in artists saying, “If I hear a rapper doing compound syllables, I immediately know this is a technician […]. And then there’s stage presence and delivery. That’s what I look for.”

In other Eminem news, he was just inducted into Spotify’s RapCaviar Hall of Fame. They shared on social media, “From Detroit to global domination 🌍, Eminem’s impact on hip-hop is unmatched. Spotify is honored to induct him into the All-RapCaviar Hall of Fame.” And we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving.
