Eminem just filmed for the season finale of HBO’s Hard Knocks highlighting the Detroit Lion’s second year under coach Dan Campbell where he visited the team’s training camp. And while there he expressed interest in joining the team. He posted a clip of him speaking to fellow D12 rapper Denaun Porter “I said I’m here for whatever position,” as he sat along the sidelines. “I’m here. Any of ‘em. All of ’em.” He then walked onto the field saying he would “lace up whenever” and “go to every game. I’ll stand on the sideline and if you guys need to put me in, put me in. Any position, I’m good. Actually, any position, I’m great.”

The Detroit Lions begin their next season on September 11th against the Philadelphia Eagles at Ford Field and their last episode on Hard Knocks premieres Tuesday, September 6th. And if Eminem’s interest in football or sports in general seems a little odd, don’t forget he originally wanted to be an NBA player in high school. At 18 he said he was confused about which direction to go, basketball or rapping and that each was equally a longshot. As for rapping, he said Vanilla Ice made it nearly impossible to make it as a white guy in rap. And imagine, all these years later how all that panned out.

On the music side, Em’s latest release was Curtain Call 2, a greatest hits collection out last month. The album has 35 tracks including 2 new records, The King & I featuring CeeLo and From The D To The LBC with Snoop. And Is this Love(’09) was pulled from the vault, a collab with 50 Cent and Dr. Dre. The album became Eminem’s 12th Top 10 album but the first since The Slim Shady LP not to reach Number One. But that doesn’t mean fans have any less interest in the Detroit rapper. Swae Lee recently did a cover of his track Stan on TikTok this week with fans begging for a full blown remix. While Swae Lee said he was just doing a “vocal warmup,” he had fans saying, “Nahh bro sounds angelic,” with another adding, “Remix the whole song immediately.”
