Hot 97 Exclusive: Bobby Shmurda Drops Real Talk as East Orange High Principal for the Day!

Sponsored by Hot 97 with a near 40 minute video cataloguing the entire thing shared on their YouTube channel, Shmurda revealed that this was an exceptionally interesting event for him because he quit school in the 6th grade. Yes, you heard that right. He stopped going to school around 12 years old. But he still had plenty of insight about life to share including how a top inmate told him how much he was wasting his potential by being what he himself called a “number one crash out.”

“I was a juvenile delinquent,” Shmurda told students. “I was a troublesome kid. I was a smart kid but I didn’t know how to control my behavior at a certain time so I used to get locked up a lot.” He said he was first arrested at 12 over drug possession. It was crack to be exact. And he might have been a massive star in 2014 with Hot Boy, but he says his past caught up with him and he only got to enjoy it for 4 months before going away for 6 years.

He spoke about paying attention to who you spend time around as well saying “Your friends can sometimes dictate where you wanna be at in life, too. So make sure you align yourself with people that’s on a good path so you could grow.” The path he was on, he told them, “That’s something y’all do not want to be.” And since changing his life, that’s why he says you see him smiling all the time. He’s not the crash out he used to be and doesn’t let other people’s actions dictate his behavior anymore.
