Ice T is the latest celebrity with a cannabis dispensary. He was just green lit by the Jersey City board to open a recreational cannabis dispensary. But it isn’t just him doing it. He’s teaming up with a Playboy Playmate. Charis B’s time in Playboy was almost 20 years ago and currently stands as a cannabis expert who will be opening what will soon be The Medicine Woman New Jersey dispensary.
The dispensary will be 5,000 sqare feet of retail with various New Jersey cannabis brands, limited edition merchandise, education, and inspiration. “I’ve dedicated my life and career to giving back and paving the way for minorities. As a New Jersey native, I’m excited for the opportunity legalization offers our community, and I look forward to ushering in a new era for cannabis in the state.”
The Medicine Woman as a brand has existed since 2015 that began as a California nonprofit delivery service. She and her husband began with 300 products and now have over 1,000. Ice T and Chari B have known each other for 25 years so this seems to be a business match made in heaven, especially since she already has the business experience and he has the larger celebrity factor to really push the brand.
They’ve also already gotten the ball rolling on giving back to the community. Charity organizations they’ve partnered with include The Last Prisoner Project, Jersey City Mural and Arts Program, Jersey City Employment and Training Program, and Hudson County Community College.
