Ivana Trump, the famed New York socialite and ex-wife of Donald Trump was found dead Thursday at her New York City home at 73. The Fire Department of New York said they didn’t find any criminality in her death saying they responded to a report of someone having cardiac arrest at their residence and that the victim, Ivana Trump was found dead on arrival. She died of blunt force trauma to her torso and ruled an accident by the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner.
Tweets from her daughter Ivanka read that she was “heartbroken by the passing of (her) mother,” adding: “She lived life to the fullest — never forgoing an opportunity to laugh and dance. I will miss her forever and will keep her memory alive in our hearts always.”
Her son Eric posted a family photo from when he was a kid captioned saying, “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump. Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend. Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren.”
Donald Trump, Jr. posted a number of pics of his mother captioned with “Mom, we will miss you incredibly,” followed with “Thanks for always pushing us hard, not letting us get away with anything, and instilling so many incredible values and personality traits,” he continued. “From your sense of humor to your sense of adventure, I am who I am today because of you. I love you very much. R.I.P.”
Ivana married Donald Trump in 1977 after leaving the former Czechoslovakia in 1970 and held a number of key leadership positions at The Trump Organization until her divorce from the real estate magnate in 1992 after an affair he was having with actress Marla Maples went public. She did, however have 3 children with Trump, Ivanka, Don Jr. and Eric.
For years dating back to the 70s, the Czech government spied on her and Trump to keep tabs on possible threats to the government because her father had ties to the Soviet Union’s security agency, the KGB. This spying ramped up in the 80s to get information on the “upper echelons of the US government.” Ivana’s conversations with her father were also deemed useful to the KGB, which is also something that has lead to people for decades questioning if she was a Soviet spy. It also contributed to what’s been described as 40 years of grooming of Trump by Soviets and Russians to promote their propaganda essentially all starting with her. But that’s another story. Whether we hear more about her Russian intelligence influence on Trump will be reported on more in her death is yet to be seen.
