But it wasn’t all about winning and losing. Mike Tyson knew what he was getting into fighting someone that age. And after all he did get $20 million out of it. Paul received $40 million. Still, he explained in an interview with 14 year old social media personality Jazlyn Guerra, known as Jazzy’s World TV before the fight that he wasn’t worried about his legacy. “I don’t believe in the word ‘legacy.’ I think that’s another word for ego. Legacy doesn’t mean nothing. That’s just some word everybody grabbed on to. Someone said that word and everyone grabbed on to that word, now it’s used every five seconds. It means absolutely nothing to me. I’m just passing through. I’m gonna die and it’s gonna be over. Who cares about legacy after that? So I’m gonna die. I want people to think that I’m this, I’m great?” he continued. “No, we’re nothing. We’re just dead. We’re dust. We’re absolutely nothing. Our legacy is nothing.”
And while he might not have won the match he revealed on X, formerly Twitter that he felt like a winner because over the summer he almost died requiring 8 blood transfusions and lost 25 pounds during that time. And this shows there’s always a positive side to everything. Now who could use a positive side is Netflix because they received complaints of people not being able to watch the match and if they did, it was extremely glitchy. And the complaints came before it even started. So Netflix, while this might have been a big day for you with your stock reaching a record high, it won’t stay there if your network can’t keep up. So get your sh** together!
This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.
I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.
