Magic Mike actor Channing Tatum is now in year 6 of his divorce battle with Jenna Dewan who he is accusing of dragging things out. A source close to the former couple told People Magazine that it’s dragging on “because Jenna’s actions and claims continuously contradict themselves.” They went on to say “She says she wants a fair settlement but is ignoring all post-separation work Channing and his partners have done to enhance Magic Mike. She keeps stalling negotiations, but says she wants to resolve this.” Another insider divulged that she’s “clearly moved on. He’d like for all the doors to close and for her divorce to be finalized. She’s not dragging this on because she wants to or because she’s greedy.”

The couple met while filming Step Up in 2006 and tied the knot 3 years later in 2009 before having their first and only child together, Everly in 2013. Tatum has said him and Dewan realized how different they were once they started co-parenting. He also said the experience was enough to cause him to be turned off from marriage for life now. Dewan filed for divorce from Tatum in 2018 stating “There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other life the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.” Dewan has moved on dating Steve Kazee and already planning her next wedding with him. “She’s very happy with Steve and would like to marry him,” a source close to the Rookie actress stated. “They started planning a wedding for later this year.” And Tatum isn’t just sitting at home moping while all this is going on. He’s currently in the third year of his relationship with Zoe Kravitz after first connecting with her when she booked him to be in her directorial debut Blink Twice as Slater King.

The issue the former Tatum-Dewan duo are facing now is how to properly divide profits from the intellectual property connected to the Magic Mike series. And Dewan says things are still being discussed 5+ years later because Tatum refuses “to accept an equal division of the Magic Mike intellectual property,” according to court docs. She says the three films were conceptualized, “developed and co-financed by Channing during marriage with community effort and marital funds.” She also says Tatum kept 100% of the profits from Magic Mike business opportunities after their separation and didn’t tell her about any of it. Tatum’s lawyers have said he has “exhausted all efforts in an attempt to settle this matter without litigation.” In the end, Dewan’s lawyer has said this is potentially a billion dollar franchise and that statement in and of itself can pretty much let us know that this has the potential to have a War of the Roses type of ending. No one, to include an attorney is just going to let that number of zeros go without getting a nice sizable chunk out of it. We just hope these two fair better than Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas did in that film… both dead for refusin to give an inch.
