Daytime television is getting ready to have yet another major shakeup. American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson is currently in talks to get her own daytime talk show. The production team behind The Ellen Degeneres is who will be working on this new show. It won’t be a continuation of Ellen’s show but is being shopped around as a brand new show. It will be branded as Warner Bros TV’s flagship daytime talk show partnered with Unscripted Television and Telepictures.

A test run of this show was recently shot on Ellen’s stage using Ellen’s executive producers Andy Lassner and Mary Connelly as show runners. With a possible Fall 2022 air date, this comes months as Kelly Clarkson’s show was announced to be filling Ellen’s time slot leaving her time open for Jennifer Hudson. This also comes as the future of The Wendy Williams Show has been in limbo again over health concerns with this season starting with others filling in as guest hosts. And then there is Nick Cannon having his own daytime show now. For years it’s been Wendy Williams and Ellen Degeneres leading daytime television’s talk shows. It looks like the playing field is about to change.
