Jordyn Woods is Releasing Her Debut Album This Year

After finishing her time on The Masked Singer, Jordyn Woods has announced she’ll be releasing her debut album this year. This is interesting given the fact that, well, no one knew she could sing just about. Prior to being on the show, she said she never sang in front of an audience before. But with the type of fame she’s received after her scuffle with the Kardashians getting accused of sleeping with Khloe Kardashian’s then off again and on again man Tristan Thompson, she might as well capitalize off of it where she can.

In a recent interview she said she began singing at home because she had a lot of free time after the scandal because let’s face it, where was she going to go? If she stepped foot out of the door she was going to get roasted alive by the press. She said she got a keyboard, taught herself how to play all in a year’s time. She said did say she used to sing around the house growing up.

It’s been quite a big jump going from casually singing at home to doing it on national television. She said the hardest part was just getting out there on stage every week. And she did actually receive some praise from the judges. ‘Robin [Thicke] comparing me to India Arie and Jordin Sparks. That was probably one of the biggest compliments I’ve ever gotten.’ I’m not sure about all of that but she has a decent voice. She’s added that she’s not going to sign to a label and will likely start her own.

Regarding the recording process, she told Entertainment Tonight, “I have not been able to get to the studio. But as soon as everything clears up and we can leave again and I can get to the studio, that is as soon as you guys will get [an album]. Hopefully before the end of 2020. And I’m talking, like, as soon as possible.”

As for why she decided to work on music when it’s something she’s not known for, the inspiration largely came from her time around the Kardashians. She said people are always asking what their talent is and she gets asked the same. She said she’s been told that she could be an influencer and even though she has multiple businesses, she still gets asked the same thing. So this is her essentially focusing on an identity for herself so that she’s not just famous for the sake of being famous. Well whatever the case is, we’re hoping it works out for her since she clearly has something to prove. She’s done this well post-Kardashians but she’s got an uphill battle if she wants to have a legitimate career vs riding off of their coattails.
