The NBA has gone to great lengths to try and be able to get through the season as covid-free as possible. But if social media is to be believed, teams don’t seem to be as thrilled with how things are being handled. From reports of bugs, mold, a mousetrap on the wall etc. And while people like Jewell Lloyd made a little light shade of things, Lakers player JR Smith went on Instagram Live to tell everything.

Smith mocked everything from the too small blankets to poor food choices, how they all had to wear tracking bracelets, etc. The bracelet he showed the camera he said was to “help with early detection of coronavirus; track temperature, respiratory and heart rate.” He described it saying, “Got my little band and sh*t so they can keep tabs on me. Tracking device. Stay woke.”

Then there’s the food available. We all know athletes are expected to be in top shape but he said there was nothing around but junk food which seemed counterproductive to preparing to play professional basketball. “We’re professional athletes and all that,” he said pointing out how many of them made “$30, $40, $50 million a year.”

“But, then you be over there crying talking about somebody can’t stay healthy and their body is breaking down and all this other sh*t?”

“You wanna motherf**king Ferrari to run like a Ferrari cause you paid for it as a Ferrari … but you keep gassing it up with Chrysler sh*t.” He filmed other players getting food.

He showed the blankets provided to the camera in complete disregard. He’s 6’6 and said there was no way the blankets they were given are capable of fitting NBA players. Now the league said they were investigating earlier complaints made about accommodations. Now it looks like they have some more things to add to the list. And apparently what he was revealing was a bit too much because he said he was asked to stop filming.

“Aw man, they mad at me bro,” Smith said. “I’m gone. Just got the text. Exposing too much sh*t. Gotta go. My bad. My bad.” No word yet on whether he got into serious trouble or not but something tells us this constant stream of complaints are going to start cooling down real soon.
