Justin Timberlake’s June Hamptons DUI has resulted in him getting his driver’s license suspended in New York. During an August 2nd Long Island arraignment, Judge Carl Irace reigned down the punishment on the pop star for his refusal to take a breathalyzer test during his traffic stop and even went as far as threatening his attorney Ed Burke with a gag order for remarks he made outside of court last week.

“It comes off as an attempt to poison the case before it even begins,” Judge Irace said during the hearing that Timberlake appeared in virtually. This was because Burke told reporters after last week’s hearing that the judge had made “very significant errors” and was expecting the case to be dismissed. And he stated that Timberlake did not drive drunk. “He was not intoxicated,” Burke said outside of court. “I’ll say it again. Justin Timberlake was not intoxicated.”

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Burke emphasized, “The key point here is that Justin was not intoxicated and should not have been arrested for DWI. The police made several significant errors in this case. In court today, you heard the district attorney attempt to correct one of those errors, but there are many others. Sometimes the police make mistakes, and this is one of those instances.”

Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney’s office addressed the inconsistencies in the case, attributing them to a paperwork issue described as a “ministerial error” with an amended charging document filed on July 2nd. “The facts and circumstances of the case have not been changed or amended,” spokesperson Emily O’Neil clarified in an email.

The night of the incident, court papers described Timberlake as having “His eyes [were] bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.” The former Mouseketeer told the officer he had one martini and was following friends home and then refused the breathalyzer test once he arrived at the police station in East Hampton.

There are a number of reasons Timberlake might be pushing his attorney to fight as hard as they are to keep him from getting a DUI conviction. That has spelled the near end of the careers of a number of celebrities ranging from Paris Hilton to Amanda Bynes, Paris Hilton, Tiger Woods and others. I mean at least he didn’t get caught on a bodycam blaming Jews for all the atrocities in the world when getting arrested like Mel Gibson when he got arrested. Timberlake’s next court date is August 9th and he isn’t required to appear, although the following date of September 13th, his attorney was asked to make sure he’s available. It’s easy to fake emotion virtually but things get real in person. Let’s see how this plays out.
