During Game 6 of the NBA Finals, Kanye West surprised fans with an Apple ad for a new single of his, No Child Left Behind, coming from his new album DONDA out this Friday, July 23rd. The song served as the soundtrack for the ad featuring the fastest woman in the US, Sha’Carri Richardson. For those unable to wait until Friday for the album release, Kanye has a sold out album listening event taking place in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium that will be livestreamed globally on Apple Thursday.
And if you’re looking for any type of shade on the new project about his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, you’re going to be sorely disappointed according to a source close to the two. While the source described living with her as a “prison,” Page Six said he didn’t speak negatively about her at all.
Kanye actually played the song for Kim personally before the listening party,” an insider close to the former couple reportedly said. “It’s emotional and personal. Not negative at all.”’
The last album Kanye did was 2019’s Jesus is King. Before that was 2018’s Kids See Ghosts, a collaboration he did with Kid Cudi. He also executive produced the albums of (K.T.S.E.), Nas (Nasir), and Pusha T (Daytona) that same year.
