Last year Kenan Thompson was asked about when he’s leaving Saturday Night Live since he’s now the longest running cast member in the show’s history and he stated he had no plans on leaving. With him currently being 18 seasons in, he said “So if they don’t throw me out of there before, I’m trying to get to 20.” Well he was definitely on to something because in February of that year his new comedy series Kenan launched, it was renewed for a second season in April and today it’s been revealed it will not have a second season.
The show, which starred Don Johnson, Chris Redd, Dani, and Dannah Lane which followed him trying to raise two daughters as a single dad as a Atlanta talkshow host was cancelled due to low ratings. It pulled in averaged a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49 and 2.4 million total viewers, which “include a week’s worth of delayed viewing where available”. And he isn’t the only show that’s been axed from the network. Mr. Mayor and The Endgame will also be ending.
