R&B singer Khalid had a heck of a day. Known for his singles Location and the Love Simon soundtrack single Love Lies, Khalid became known for something a little different today. A latin singer and Onlyfans star named Hugo D’Almonte posted a picture of Khalid lying in his lap where he spoke about breaking up with the guy and proceeded to say how he wasn’t attracted to him and things of that nature. It also grew from there into a homophobic rant where he talked about how he hates all the gay artists out right now.

Now this can be a very traumatizing thing for a lot of people but Khalid took it in stride. He very calmly wrote on X, formerly Twitter that yes he was gay and that the world moves on. Of course it doesn’t hurt that it isn’t a career death sentence like it used to be. And he’s been largely supported by fans, many of which were shocked to see what happened and reacted with a resounding “The nerve!” And to make matters worse, his ex is an aspiring singer of the same age which makes it look very much like envy because he has the bigger career. Come to think of it, it isn’t just a bigger career, but Khalid has THREE diamond records. It doesn’t come any bigger than that. We will say that we peeped something. Blogger Armon Wiggons posted him with an influencer saying he seems to have a certain type. Without saying it, he insinuated that he seems to date people who could be seen as less attractive to him. So in other words he’s a user.

And lastly, outing people is wrong under any circumstance. We wrote about a similar scenario years ago as it pertains to the model and influencer Deven Hubbard. We interviewed him for the PopGlitz Podcast and before then we had noticed the number of people who for the longest were punching down at him accusing him of being gay. He said he wasn’t. To this day, if that’s what he says, it should be good enough. And to be well into your 30s at the time making extensive Youtube videos about someone in their early 20s, bashing them for not coming out of the closet is completely ridiculous. Even if you knew that he was gay because Khalid did create an LGBT anthem in the past and said he was never hiding it, that doesn’t justify this act.

Hugo should remember a line we heard in a Madea play which was “You can’t make yourself feel better by making everyone else be miserable.” And even if this all comes down to being falsely accused of breaking in the man’s home, there’s other ways of handling it. Were the police involved? Was legal action taken against him? If not then sir, stfu. Of all the things he could be doing with his life being as attractive he is, he did not have to choose this failed type of come up.

Mmhmm
