Lil Nas X and Azealia Banks are having quite the riveting back and forth right now. It started with her saying he “fell off so hard” and had no bars. He told her that he could never make another hit and that she wouldn’t have a 10th of the success that he’s had. And it all went downhill from there. He actually said never in her “b-ssy soap selling chicken sacrificing botched body hating a– miserable life” would she have a tenth of his success. Then the F word was used a number of times. Not that F word, the other one, and she attributed his success to the white collaborators he worked with and not his own doing.

Here’s one particular gem that came out of this back and forth. “I really think Tyler the creator and lil nas x should get over their obsession with broke White bussy and become a power couple,” Banks wrote on IG. “I think the sensationalism of successful Black gay men toting trailer a*s rent man hookers as arm candy is played, predictable and and they’re both obviously being objectified and plotted on by these boys for hire. It would be way more monumental to see to young Black gay men as an item. Even just for aesthetic reasons. The idea of spending the extra hardly earned Black male dollars on some cheap White buss is extra whack.” Tyler responded by liking the post saying “lmfao what the hell” because laughing at Azealia Banks is a lot easier than fighting with her. And X responded, Azealia Banks is right! Me and Tyler SHOULD fuck!”

Now what is amazing in this is if Azealia Banks continues to have a Twitter account after the slurs she’s used. But then again, Elon Musk has vowed to make the platform a bastion of free speech which means it’s going to be a haven for white supremacists, terrorists and the like. Studies have shown that hate speech has risen under Musk’s reign over Twitter, and so much so that he’s threatened to sue the researchers pointing it out. So her comments and her account probably will stay. And as for the inspiration behind this behavior, he did recently promise a new album to come out in November, so perhaps this is staged. Banks did say he’s been in her DMs asking to collab several times. So if they do actually end up on some tracks together, we’re going to side eye them both over this.
