Lil Wayne was on his way to California when the jet he was on took a stop over at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport where the feds decided to do a search. A tip had been provided that they could be transporting drugs and sure enough, cocaine was found on board after a warrant was obtained to search the aircraft. Wayne’s attorneys arrived to handle things on the spot since he’s a Miami resident. Opioids and guns were found as well. As for where the tip came from, Wayne believes that him tweeting “Go Pack Go,” likely referring to the Green Bay Packers was what did it. Now anyone that’s either a Wayne or sports fan knows his avid display of support for teams he enjoys on social media, so that’s just silly. He’s not expected to be charged as he was just a passenger but if anyone else does, they’ll likely be in jail through Christmas because federal government offices will be closed both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Lucky for Wayne his private jet raid went better than the late rapper Juice Wrld who is said to have swallowed a bunch of pills when he found out his plane was going to be raided and overdosed there on the spot because of it. Wayne also spent a year at Rikers over 40 caliber found on his tour bus back in 2010 from a 2007 incident. He maintained that this gun didn’t belong to him, the same that he did before going to jail the last time. While we hate to say it, when Wayne came out of jail now about a decade ago, it was the best he’s ever looked. He put on a considerable amount of weight from working out as well. Maybe he could use that again considering how he’s been looking a little less than healthy lately.
The object lesson here is to watch what you post on social media. And the object lesson for our federal government is that while we’re interested in stopping drug trafficking, can we have a little more to go off of than just a single tweet that SOUNDS like it involves drugs when it doesn’t? This is what happens when you have people in law enforcement who don’t understand the culture of who they’re policing. It’s either that or just looking for reasons to harass people. Wayne sold a 15,000 square foot Miami area home a couple years ago after someone phoned in a fake call reporting a shooting at his home. It almost makes you wonder if the police are doing that themselves to have a reason to run inside of people’s homes. If so, that’s a clear 4th amendment violation, but that’s another story.
