LA Reid set a stan war off by suggesting the next Verzuz battle be between Mariah Carey and Beyonce during a recent appearance on The Real. Mariah was finally asked about this during a chat with E! News including who would win where she said, “Oh, stop! I love you, but we can’t ask that question,” Carey said. “First of all, I love Beyoncé and I admire her so much as a performer for what she’s done for the world and everything else, so I ain’t answering that question.” She added, “I’ll be disrespecting myself and I’m not going to do that, because it’s Christmas time.”

Now we all know Mariah Carey is Ms. Christmas herself. She couldn’t be anymore Christmas even if she changed her name to Mrs. Claus so to ask her about anything other than that from now through New Years or at least December 26th is just blasphemy. We’re supposed to be basking in that… what would the Mariah Carey holiday version of “That Rihanna rain just won’t let up,” be? Oh, I’ve got it. It’s December and that Mimi blizzard is still going. (I tried).
But we know there’s no comparison between these two artists and they know there’s no comparison. But one thing’s for sure, the only way to make Mimi any bigger in the holidays is to revive 2010 stan Twitter. This debate hasn’t happened in years, but we’re glad Mimi shut this one down. They’re both confident in their legacies. No comparison needed.
